Located to the south of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture has the second-largest population in Japan after Tokyo. As the nearest tourist destination to the capital, Kanagawa attracts many tourists throughout the year.
The prefecture has Kamakura, an ancient city that was home to the Kamakura shogunate and built by samurai about 800 years ago. Kamakura is popular for its scenic beauty and quaint atmosphere.
